Winchester City Flyers will be looking to make it five unbeaten games in row after they made it to the First Round Proper of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup last weekend for the first time.

The Flyers were comfortable 3-0 winners over Bitton AFC thanks to an Annie Northwood brace and a first goal of the season for Eliza Eaton.

Badshot Lea, Sunday’s opposition, however, were in league action after they were knocked out in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

The Surrey-based side travelled to face an in form Oxford City where they lost 6-1 at Court Place Farm, leaving them second from bottom.

Dorothy Usher scored the only goal for the Baggies who have yet to win a game in any competition this season.

Their only point came at the start of the season against the relegated Selsey, Deanna Taylor and Usher were on target for Badshot in the 2-2 draw.

Results haven’t come from Badshot as they have lost the last six games in all competitions however, some positives would have been taken with the narrow 1-0 loss against league leaders Ascot United who have been scoring freely this season.

Badshot now came up against Winchester who themselves struggled to get their season going but have since picked up in the last four games.

Last season when the two sides met both took the win in their respective home tie of this fixture.

The Baggies were 2-0 winners in September 2023 before the Flyers hosted them at Winklebury Football Complext where Winchester were 3-1 winners.

Emma Pearmine will hoping for more of the same as her team look to move up the table and gain ground on the likes of Sholing, AFC Portchester and Wycombe Wanderers.
